Located beneath the classical, clean lines of the monument, "The "Peace Center" will provide spaces for presentations, symposia and activities furthering the mission of the Monument. Also monochromatic and minimalist in design, "The Peace Center" will represent the most modern, cutting edge of design with the newest forms of communications, projection, screen and digital technologies.
The Peace Center′s design is based on a spiral, which has ancient symbolic roots that continue to appear in modern-day religious traditions. This is also a very practical solution for designing the space, with its flow following the foundation of the monument.
Jan Sawka has worked closely on the design of the Peace Center with architect Bart Sapeta, who has extensive experience in Europe and the United States, as well as training in the newest building materials and technologies of Japan.
